Mission Statement

Our goal is to make your child feel he/she can accomplish anything, no matter how large or small the task. Through guidelines and structures of the program we hope the children will feel that they are special and able to develop many friendships. With the help of JESUS, parents and teachers, your child will grow to be a responsible person who enjoys learning for life.

Through an enrichment style program, children at SonShine are offered a very positive and rewarding atmosphere of love and learning. By offering stimulating activities, the children develop the areas needed for social, cognitive, emotional and spiritual growth. Each child is treated with love and respect so that he/she can learn to love themselves and the environment around them.

A child’s uniqueness has many sources: physical, racial, religious, ethnic, sexual, economic and artistic. All of these contribute to making a wonderful enriching diversity of children. At SonShine, we recognize that each child is an individual who develops and learns at his or her own pace.

About Our Center

SonShine is a licensed childcare center that has been in operation since 1976. We are a Christian school that teaches your child that they are special and unique just as God intended. We use an enrichment style program that accommodates different intellectual and physical abilities of children within the same age group. Children are provided with free-choice activities to help them build self-confidence and personal responsibility. Teachers lead circle time and centers, where children are encouraged to converse and share. Our goal is to introduce kindergarten readiness skills to your child. By teaching academic, social and listening skills, we enable your child to be well rounded and prepared for kindergarten.

The director and the teachers have the necessary educational requirements, plus years of experience. A staff member, certified in CPR and first aid is available on the premises at all times.

Programs Provided by SonShine

Child must be 3 by October 1 and fully potty trained. Classes are MWF/T-TH/or full time.

This class is for children preparing to enter Kindergarten in the Fall or for those children who, for a variety of reasons, the parent and teacher feel that they would benefit by another year of maturity before entering Kindergarten. Classes are either MWF/T-TH or full time.

Children can come as early as 8:00 am. This service is available whenever needed without advanced notice for a nominal fee of $4.00.

All children are entitled to enter into our full daycare program. It is $18.00 per day, with pickup by 5:30 pm. There is a 2 day minimum for this preschool service.

Summer Care is offered for 3 year olds through 4th grade from 7:30 am till 5:30 pm (three day minimum).
